Milligan College president's father dies at 83 Walter 0. Johnson, 83, 104 Ridgemont Road, died Tuesday night in Johnson City Memorial Hospital. following a brief illness. A native of Anson, Mr. Johnson was the father of Jess W.

Johnson. president of Milligan College. He lived most of his life in California and Oregon and had resided here for the past four years. He was the son of the late Walter and Armenta Parker Johnson. Mr.

Johnson was a retired barber and a member of Downtown Christian Church. Survivors, in addition to his son, include his widow, Mrs. Vada Vanemburg Johnson; one son, Don R. Johnson, a missionary in Ethiopia: seven grandchildren; two greatgrandchildren. Appalachian is in charge.
